Prom and graduation are quickly approaching and we believe every student
should have formal
wear and accessories
for their end-of-year
celebrations. With
this in mind, we will
host the first-ever Cinderella's
Closet! The event
will happen on Thursday,
April 21 st
9:00 a.m. to 12:00 at
the Tunkhannock Area
High School in Rooms
160 and 161. Our
mission is to provide
young women with the
opportunities that
others take for
granted. This is a
wonderful example of
doing more with less
by providing free prom
and graduation dresses
to girls who otherwise
couldn't afford them,
encourage students to
participate in
milestone events with
their peers and aid in
eliminating the
barriers that lower
income families are
challenged with.
Eliminating these
barriers will promote
confidence and
self-esteem in our
students' lives.
What
can you donate?
Take
a peek into your own
closet and look for
formal wear you will
never have the
occasion to wear
again/is too big/is
too small or anything
that you would just
like to give. We will
also accept gently
used formal shoes,
purses and jewelry.
Donations can be
dropped off at the
high school office or
with your specific
building
representative listed
below by Friday, April
15 th. Any
unused donations will
be stored at the high
school and used in the
fall as we again help
our students prepare
for upcoming
homecoming and
Christmas dances.
